Peeps will need to note that there seems to be a very high chance that the drive will be on of the “un-moddable” (translation = more difficult and invasive to mod) lite-on drive, along with no chance of a motherboard level J-Tag hack for now. The new drives can now be hacked, however you are going to need some fairly leet soldering skills (like me).

ReplyDeleteTurns out that these units hit the shelves here pretty much the same time as Germany, just no one noticed, hehe. If it was not for me wanting to run homebrew and games from my HDD without the disc in the draw then I would be grabbing one for myself.
